IVIG doesn`t work in the 3rd time04/04/2008 |
Hi, I used IVIG 3 times. First was before the thymectomy and it was very helpful for me. Second time was 3 months after the surgery. Also gave me good result, but not like the first time (little less). Third time was 3 months later. I didn`t see any result of using IVIG. I didn`t understand why it didn`t work this time?
I am not sure why you received a good response initially from IVIG and not much benefit on the third try. I have had patients with other diseases, who use IVIG chronically, mention some infusions that don't seem to help. There may be batch-to-batch variablility. Good luck with your disease. (I should note that you still have apheresis as an option for a MG crisis.)
