Blood in my stool04/29/2008 |
About once a week for two months, I have experienced excessive blood in my stool. The entire bowl is bright red and the paper is saturated. I have IBS, but this isn`t a symptom to my knowledge. There is no pain, nor do I have hemorrhoids. If I have hemorrhoids and I know what that feels like, I don`t know it. I am very concerned. I have had two colonoscopies and I am only 34. My last one was 4 years ago. What are the possible causes and should I go straight to a specialist or just a regular MD?
I think you should see a specialized gastroenterologist. Having blood in your stools with that frequency is not normal and should be investigated further.
