Vascular Surgery

The best way to treat venous stasis

05/06/2008

Question:

I have been diagnosed by my family dr. last week with Venous stasis. My ankle have been swollen for some time. Then I noticed my lower legs were red like sunburn but I had not been in the sun. It would not go away. My legs were actually swollen and if you rubbed over my shins it was a little painful. I do have one damaged kidney from Pyelonephritis. My dr. told me to keep my legs elevated and get up and walk around alot. Other than this is there anything else I can do? Will the redness ever go away? What can I do?

Answer:

Hello. You need to see a vascular surgeon about your venous disease. There are many options to help you. If you are in the Cincinnati area, I would be happy to see you. Good luck!
