Is Luvox Still Used for OCD?05/12/2008 |
Why is Luvox never heard about when the other SSRI`s are mentioned? Is it still used for OCD? If not, is it because of side effects and drug-drug interactions? I know some doctors will not use it.
Fluvoxamine (Luvox) can be an effective and helpful agent in the treatment of obsessive compulsive disorder (OCD) and other conditions. You are correct in that this medicine's popularity in use has declined over the past decade, partly to due to the reasons that you cited. Another phenomenon is that older medicines often receive less attention than newer ones.
