Does Stopping Forteo Affect COPD and Osteoporosis?

Question:

Is there any research or evidence that the hormone in Forteo may have some positive indication whilst in use on a chronic COPD patient. My 49 year old husband has AVN after constant prednisone treatment and was prescribed Forteo to re-grow damaged bone after humerus replacement. He could only tolerate Forteo every other day to extreme cramps, but since coming off Forteo a couple of months ago, his COPD has become noticably worse? His osteoporosis is also getting worse. Any views on links to this relatively new treatment?

Answer:

There are sporadic questions on the internet about a potential relationship, but I have not seen an official scientific report.  Usually if there are enough isolated reports, a company will search the database to see if there is any evidence for such an effect.
