Taking blood pressure after mastectomy05/19/2008 |
Hello! I am buying a medical alert bracelet and plan to list my use of Coumadin and my Hypertension. What terminology do I use on the bracelet regarding my left breast mastectomy and not using that arm for taking blood pressure and blood samples? Thanks!
I am not sure how much space there is but would say something like "avoid IVs/needles/BP L arm". And remember, in a true emergency, if blood, BP, or IVs are needed, whatever access for any of that the healthcare workers can use is OK!
