Ferritin level of 1500 w/out hemochromotosis?05/19/2008 |
My husband`s ferritin level has gone from 1200, to 1325, as is now up to 1500. Hemochromotis has been ruled out, as has leukemia. What are your thoughts?
The other thing to think about in this situation is inflammation. Check with your doctor to see if they have done any tests to find out if there is inflammation in the body such as arthritis or any other type of process along those lines. That could cause ferritin to go artificially high, but it has nothing to do with iron levels.
