Can you tell me how they do a steroid injection into the hip joint?
It depends if it is:
- an "intertrochanteric" (bursa) injection, which can be done bedside by introducing a needle over the felt hip bone or
- an "intra-articular" (meaning inside the joint proper), which is done under x-ray guidance
