4 year old needing root canals06/04/2008 |
My daughter just found out her 4-yr old son needs a few root canals and will go into the hospital for surgery. This may be a rhetorical question, but this child also is a very slow talker. He tests brilliantly, however he goes to speech therapy weekly. Would his bad teeth have anything to do with his poor speech? BTW, he has no pain with his teeth.
It is very unlikely that his dental problems are affecting his speech. In a few circumstances, like missing front teeth, the child may lisp but dental issues won't affect "slow" talking.
