Increased protein in CSF06/23/2008 |
Does having diabetes cause increased protein in the CSF, or is it more likely due to the precipitating illness (also increased White Blood Count)? Everything else being normal and no signs of infection.
I am not aware of diabetes causing a problem with CSF protein - abnormalities are far more likely to be due to an underlying problem like infection or inflammation. I believe there may sometimes be modest changes in CSF protein that are not fully explained, but I really don't know enough about that to say anything you should rely upon.
