Knee pain after running on treadmill

I recently started running only a couple minutes at a time on our treadmill. This has caused pain in both my knees. I wear running shoes. It is a fairly new treadmill. I would say I jog more than aggresive running. Any suggestions as to how to stop this pain?

This pain is most likely coming from your kneecap, especially if you are running at an incline.  I would recommend reducing the incline as much as possible, run at a slower speed and start off at shorter distances gradually working up.  Many times, people who are not conditioned try to start off too fast and too long and this causes rapid overuse.  I don't know if this is your state, but it is a common starting problem.  If the pain and symptoms persist when you follow the above advice, I would recommend seeing a physician who can examine your knee because there may be a subclinical injury that only manifests itself with stress.
