Urinary and Genital Disorders (Children)

What questions should I ask? 08/15/2008

Question:

My 14 month old daughter has had 3 UTI`s since December 2007. She had a VCUG done in June 2008- results Grade II in right tubule. She is now on a low dose antibiotic to prevent any recurrent UTI`s. I live in South Texas and there are no pedi OB-GYN`s. I was referred to a pedi surgeon from Driscoll for next month. If this physician specializes in urology, what questions need to be asked? Thank you for your time.

Answer:

I would suggest travelling to Houston to Texas Children's Hospital and see either Dr. David Roth or Dr. Eric Jones. Both are experts in the treatment of reflux.
