COPD and formaldehyde

Question:

i have had copd for 9 years and i have been an emblamer for 22 years. I have not yet applied for disabilty, but i have it very hard doing anything. i smoked for 35 years, have been quit for 11 years. what has done the most damage to my lungs.

Answer:

Smoking. By quitting smoking 11 years ago you were able to decrease the degree of progression of your lung disease.
