Becoming Pregnant With Underactive Thyroid08/01/2008 |
Hi I'm 29 yeas old and have had underactive thyroid for about 2 to 3 years. I'm now on 100mcg of levothyroxine and my last blood test showed that this was ok and stable. I`m hoping to have children in my early 30`s could you please give me some advise as to if this could cause me any problems in becoming pregnant. I have also been on the pill from the age of 20 thank you.
As long as your thyroid hormone levels are adequately controlled, you should have no problems with infertility related to your hypothyroidism. The past use of a birth control pill should not affect your chance to become pregnant in the future.
