Medication Options for High Blood Pressure and Depression07/29/2008 |
Please, I need your help. I have high blood pressure, 170 over 100 on average. I also have extreme nerve pain and neuropathy resulting in depression, for which my doctor is suggesting either Cymbalta or Pristiq. Given my high blood pressure, which would be the better and less risky medication to take? Thank you very much.
Cymbalta should be a good medication to try for both depression and nerve pain. I have never heard of Pristiq. Gaining control of you depression and your chronic pain should make it easier to manage your blood pressure, but that may take several months.
