Metformin Dosage During Pregnancy08/22/2008 |
I have PCOS and was taking metformin as I was trying to conceive. I was taking 1750mg daily and just about 2 weeks ago, I found out that I am pregnant. Should I reduce the dosage now that I am pregnant or is this dosage still safe for the baby?
Metformin is considered to be safe to use during the first trimester of pregnancy. The dose that you are taking is in the "normal" range. I would check with your physician to determine if he/she still advise you to continue.
