Sarcoidosis

Is Sarcoidosis The Cause Of My Headaches?

08/18/2008

Question:

Hello Sarcoidosis was diagnosed in my lymph nodes, about two years ago. In the last few weeks I noticed a permanent head ache along with high blood preesure. My doctor thinks perhaps I have sarcoidosis of the brain. What do you think about it and what could you tell me about this form of sarcoidosis which is not well known ? thank you

Answer:

There are many causes of headache, including high blood pressure. I would not immediately jump to the conclusion that you have sarcoidosis of the brain without further and appropriate testing. You should follow up closely with your doctor to determine the cause of the unexplained headaches.
