65 yr female w/ nonunion of a Jones fracture09/10/2008 |
I am a 65 yr. old Female with a nonunion, 5th metatarsal fracture. I am schedule to have surgery. Post treatment should I be immobilized or put into a weight bearing cast?
Often there is a short period of non-weight bearing followed by a weight bearing cast or walking boot. There are varying theories on how to recovery from this type of surgery. This is a great question to ask your orthopedic surgeon to determine how they will recovery you post-procedure.
