My boyfriend and I tried to have sex for the first time, but it was to painful for me. It was the day after I ended my period and I was wondering if that would affect it or if there is something that I need to get checked out.
Just having come off your period should make sex more uncomfortable than other times, unless you are using tampons and had some irritation to the vagina. It also matters if this is the first time you tried to tried to ever have sex. That can also be painful. Either way, you should make an appointment to be examined. It will also be important to talk to your doctor about prevention of pregnancy and sexually transmitted infections. The majority of women having sex for the first time fail to do so and end up either pregnant or contracting an infection.
