Is there such a thing as drug-induced schizophrenia? My brother told me that he was diagnosed with drug-induced schizophrenia. I did not know very much about mental health and so I did not think anything of this statement. Since that time, my daughter has been diagnosed with bipolar disorder. My mother also suffered from mental illness. Now, I would like to know more about my brother`s condition. Unfortunely, I have not heard from my brother in eight years, even though I have done many searches for him.
Unfortunately without more information, any response would only be speculating. That said, some patients with bipolar disorder (with psychotic symptoms) may be confused for schizophrenia.
