Erectile Dysfunction (ED)

Prolonged erection due to injection

09/16/2008

Question:

I visited a clinic to get the penis injections to get more erections, but I was not having problems acheiving erections before my visit. After a few injections I got a prolonged erection lasting for about 10 hours. It was very painful and uncomfortable. I went back to the clinic again and they drew blood from my penis. After that incident I have not been able to acheive full erection and it has been over one year. Is this a permenant problem or is there a cure?

Answer:

The erection lasting 10 hours should not have cause permanent damage. However, having said that, it is not clear if the erections will return to full rigidity. You may need to have a urologic evaluation to assess the penile blood flow and hemodynamics if the erection remains weak.
