More lumps after breast lumpotomy09/29/2008 |
I wonder if you can help me please, my mum is aged 61 and has recently undergone a lumpotomy to remove a small cancerous lump as well as some lymph vessels under her arm. She has suffered a lot of pain in the arm and has now found several more hard lumps on her affected breast. The operation was 10 days ago, could the hard areas on her breast just be part of the healing process or does it mean that more cancerous areas have developed? Thank you.
It is unlikely that new cancers have grown this rapidly. The changes are probably due to the recent surgery. She should see her doctor for an exam, however, to be certain.
