Ankle sprain

10/13/2008

Question:

I took a fall sport climbing at 11th of August.Working as a male nurse at an ICU and having some injuries in the past (never ankle sprains though)i evaluated the sprain at 1st degree with topic swelling (no bruising at all)and mild pain.I got x-rays 1 week after and there were clear.During the first week i took Brexin 10mgrx2 and rest as much as i could.I am at the third week of phisiotherapy now and i got some stifnes in my ankle but not clear pain in any specific point. Also the joint is stable. When can i expect fool recovery?

Answer:

Provided you do not reinjure and there is normal healing, eight weeks. Stiffness is normal and actually desired since you want good stability at the joint.
