Swelling on my son`s cheek after injection10/13/2008 |
My 9 yr old son had a baby tooth removed because it wouldn`t come out no matter how much he pulled, and it was painful. My concern is at the injection site (top right) it is now swollen and he has some pain. He said it makes his other teeth feel like they hurt..He had the procedure done on 10/8/08..it is now 10/11/08..he is still hurting. If it is a hematoma will it go away on it`s own?
Contact your dentist certainly. He or she may want to look at your son. The tooth sounds as though it was "ankylosed" or fused to the bone. This occurs in primary teeth. This is likely not an anesthesia issue but a surgical one. The adjacent teeth can be painful to put pressure on in this situation.
Today is 10/13 so if the problem has not resolved, you should contact the dentist.
