Would the TENS Machine Help Relieve RA Pain?

10/15/2008

Question:

The RA in my eblow causes my elbow to lock. It locked once and caused a nerve entrapment. I went to physical therapy and as one of the treatment they used a TENS Machine and put ice on top of that. That helped a lot with the pain and my arm felt ok for a few hours. I was wondering if the TENS machine would work on my RA in other joints or did it only work on nerve pain?

Answer:

While the TENS unit may work best for nerve related pain, it may work for other pains as well. Certainly, it will not harm.
