Amoxicillin and Flu Shots10/23/2008 |
I am presently taking Amoxicillin for an ear infection (for 10 days). How soon can I get a flu shot?
My recommendation is for you to ask the question to your physician. The Inactivated Influenza Vaccine Information Statement (http://www.cdc.gov/vaccines/pubs/vis/downloads/vis-flu.pdf) says that, "People who are moderately or severely ill should usually wait until they recover before getting flu vaccine. If you are ill, talk to your doctor or nurse about whether to reschedule the vaccination. People with a mild illness can usually get the vaccine."
