Urinary Tract Cancers

Kidney cancer

10/28/2008

Question:

My husband had his left kidney removed three years ago because of kidney cancer. Now he has blood in his urine, again he has no pain this time either. Could there be cancer in his right kidney also? We are waiting for test to come back. He is 59 yr. old and has never smoked and he does not drink.

Answer:

The blood in the urine is concerning for another problem. It can be from the other kidney or from the bladder. It may NOT be cancer. BUT is it needs to be checked out thoroughly soon.
