Dental Anesthesia

Anesthesia

10/27/2008

Question:

I`ve had a cavity treatement 2 weeks ago and my dentist gave me a local anesthesia. After 2 weeks I`m still feeling some pain on the area that he gave the anesthesia. It`s a little bit swollen and red. Could it be something wrong?

Answer:

There can be trauma from any injection given anywhere in the body. Usually, this would resolve within two weeks, however. You should probably visit with your dentist to have this evaluated. Not knowing where it is, you medical condition, medications you are taking, etc., it would be hard to make any specific judgment regarding your situation.
