Bleeding and Clotting Disorders |
Testing10/30/2008 |
My mother and grandmother have both died from blood clots my sister is currently being trating for blood clots in the lungs should i be tested?
It is not such an easy decision to be tested or not, as there are both sides of the argument that need to be considered. Regardless of the test results, it is extremely unlikely that anyone would treat you for blood clots (put you on blood thinners) unless you have had a blood clot yourself. I would encourage you to meet with a physician with expertise in blood clotting disorders to understand the issues before deciding to do or not do the testing.
