Anxiety Disorder with COPD

If you have servere COPD can that bring on anxiety attacks or would it be completely unrelated problems?

It is not an uncommon occurrence for people with COPD to experience anxiety, especially related to sensations of being unable to breath.  People with COPD can also have a separate anxiety disorder, producing everything from panic attacks to frequent periods of excessive worry and concern.

Check out the weblinks about anxiety to read more about anxiety disorders.

A good pulmonary rehabilitation program for COPD will also address fear and anxiety related to breathing and help you develop ways to relax and deal with the anxieties.  If you haven't taken part in such a program, considering talking to your physician about such a program.
