Is she allergic to all types of penicillin?

Question:

when she was younger my daughter had an allergic reaction to amoxocillin, we have kept her from having this ever since. now she is going abroad with the school and they say she should wear a medic alert saying that she is allergic to all types of penicilllin,is this the right thing to do?

Answer:

Yes, that is the right thing to do. However, it might be more advantageous to have her tested for penicillin allergy before she leaves.
