large dystrophic breast calcifications on mammogram-Does this confirm cancer?
Large dystrophic breast calcifications are benign, and are not worrisome for cancer. They are commonly seen on mammogram, are usually not palpable and are usually stable over many years. Large calcifications are the benign type of calcium deposit in the breast. Smaller calcifications, and calcifications that show a linear configuration with branching are more worrisome for possible cancer.
