Dental Anesthesia |
Facial swelling12/12/2008 |
I visited the dentist on Wednesday and had a filling done. When I left the dentist I was okay, however I woke up this morning with some swelling on both sides of my face but mostly on the side where the filling was done. I went back to the dentist who after examining me said that there was no infection in my mouth and that it would probably go down in a few days. She said something abouut an air embolism but she was not sure. The swelling is actually in the area right by my ears almost at my neck and it only hurts when I chew. What do you think? Should I go to my regular doctor?
I think you should. It is not clear that this is dental-related, and I do not think it is local anesthesia-related.
