Can I do therapy myself after cervical fusion12/30/2008 |
I was in a car accident a year ago. Didnt find herniated disk until 8 mo. later. Had fusion on C6-7 and am almost 3 mo. post op. Still having neck, shoulder and some back pain. No health ins., no settlement, no money for physical therapy. Can I do this myself? How, what, and where can I learn to do therapy myself?
You do need to be seen by a physical therapist to evaluate your specific needs. Not every cervical fusion is the same and the wrong exercises can hurt more than help.
However, if you let your therapist know your circumstance, the therapist should be able to give you things you can do at home on your own so as to keep your costs to a minimum.
