Question:

dear doc, i m trying 4 conception since 1.25 yrs.but failed. my all preliminary blood tests(FSH,LH), follicular study are normal,my husband`s sperm count and motility are also good.recently having an episode of uterus infection. taking antibiotics and vaginal insertions tablets. i also had problem of recurrent UTI after my marriage.is this bec of UTI that has affected my uterus also. wht is the best way to ensure that infaction has cured fully?is any other pathological test u can suggest?

Answer:

A UTI would not affect the uterus or tubes;  However, a uterine infection could affect the fallopian tubes.  I would recommend that you have a hysterosalpingogram or HSG (dye test to see if the tubes are open).

If this were normal, potential treatment would include fertility pills or shots, coupled with either intrauterine insemination (IUI) or in vitro fertilization (IVF).  You can see your doctor for initial testing.
