Jaw Pain

01/09/2009

Question:

After I tried to eat a hard piece of bread, I felt my right jaw pop and ever since I`ve had a problem with opening my mouth wide to eat or even after putting food in my mouth - pain with chewing. If I open my mouth real wide I hear a clicking sound on the right side. Can you tell me what to do?

Answer:

Thank you for visiting NetWellness. On this site, we try to answer general questions about health. Only a health professional performing a thorough clinical exam is able to evaluate your symptoms. You should see a specialist in TMD (temporomandibular disorders). They can be general dentist or prosthodontist. NetWellness may also have some general information available that you can access through our search feature. Feel free to write back if you still have questions or need an explanation.
