Menstruation with a pap smear test01/14/2009 |
22 year old never pregnant and on oral birth control pap came back with abnormal cells and they did the test while i was on my period?
I don't see a question, but assume you want to know if being on your period could have caused the abnormal findings. It definitely could have lead to the abnormal Pap. Depending on how abnormal they are, you could either have the Pap repeated or for reassurance, if the Pap was bad enough and can't be explained by the period, you may need a biopsy of the cervix to determine the cause and rule out any precancerous cells.
