Hard lump on gum01/14/2009 |
I have quite a large lump on the top right gum above the tooth. It is very hard, does not feel like there is pus in it, it doesn`t move and it does not hurt at all no matter how hard i press it. I have no other symptoms apart from a couple of little white spots just above the lump.
It would be impossible to say what this is, based on your description, and in all likelihood would require removal and microscopic examination (biopsy) to determine exactly what this is.Usually such lumps turn out to be benign (not cancer), but depending on what type of tumor it is, it could grow much larger. It is always easier to treat something when it's smaller, so for that reason I would urge you to make an appointment to see an oral surgeon who sends his biopsy samples to an oral pathologist.
