How is a hemochromatosis test done & where do I get it done? I`ve had a blood test down to test iron. Results are Ferritin 56,Transferein saturation 39.4 Total iron 164,IBC is 414. Low and high results. I am a 46 year old woman. What does this test mean?
The labs that you report appear to be normal with respect to our laboratory standards. If you are still curious about your genetic status, you could request a genetic assay for the hemochromatosis gene.
