Asthma

Breathing problem

01/26/2009

Question:

I have been an asthmatic since I was 3 and now im 25. Lately i haven`t been too comfortable breathing esecially at night. And last night I wasn`t able to sleep at all. Im on an Asthalin. How can i get relief?

Answer:

It is not uncommon for individuals with childhood asthma to go into remission and then have reoccurrence of asthma in young adulthood.  Nighttimes symptoms is an ominous sign that indicates you may be having increased asthma problems that requires reevaluation and treatment.  I would make an appointment with a board certified allergist who is experienced in the diagnosis, evaluation and treatment of asthma at your earliest convenience.  He/she will be able to prescribe appropriate medication(s) based on your evaluation and needs.
