Anal fissure02/11/2009 |
I have internal and external hemmoroids plus an anterior fissure and skin tags. I have soreness and discomfort in the anus all day long. I bleed after every bowel movement and when I pass gas sometimes blood sprays out and it makes the anus hurt even more. Can fissures bleed persistently and when you pass gas can it cause you to spray blood?
Yes, this can be caused by fissures. You should have an exam to make sure there is nothing else causing your problem, like Crohn's disease. If not, then a trial of medicated suppositories, fiber, and certain topical agents may be useful. Fissures that don't heal with medical therapy may be amenable to treatment with Botox or even surgery.
