Recurrence of crossbite
My daughter is 21. When she was 10 we began orthodontic rx for crossbite, did the palate expander and braces. She stopped wearing her retainers in late HS and early college - has a "permanent" one for her lower teeth. Her upper teeth have shifted, and the malocclusion is back - she went to a new orthodontist who wants $4500 to fix. What if she does nothing? She can`t afford this rx, but I will try to help her if it is critical. Thanks
I cannot comment on the severity issue wthout seeing records. However, if she has already achieved expansion it is likely that the second stage would be less severe. You should ask the new orthodontist about the time commitment for this new therapy or return to the original doctor for his/her opinion.
