Gall Bladder Surgery Questions

02/18/2009

Question:

I have numerous gall stones and am awating surgery in 2 weeks to have my gall bladder removed.  Right now I have really bad wind and hiccups.  Will they go away once I have the surgery?  I am also wondering, if there is a problem with the key hole surgery, and I have to be cut, is the wound very big and will that cause a stay in the hospital?  Thank you.

Answer:

Some of these symptoms may go away, however, nothing can be gauranteed. If you have the bigger incision, you will be in the hospital longer and your recovery will take longer. However, both approaches are acceptable.
