Low Platelets03/20/2009 |
My daughter is 3 days old. Her platelets are low and the doctors can`t figure out why. She was born with 2 urinary tubes. How is this treated?
The finding of 2 ureters is unrelated to the platelet issue. The double ureter is found in 1 in 125 individuals. Depending on whether there is significant urinary tract enlargement (hydronephrosis), other tests may be necessary, such as follow-up ultrasounds, a voiding cystourethrogram, or a kidney scan.
