Actos & fatty liver02/24/2009 |
does actose cause fatty liver.blood work did not show that until I was put on actose
The medical problems for which actos would be prescribed represent situations where there is a high likelihood of developing fatty liver. I don't know for sure but doubt that actos would cause diabetic fatty liver; however, drugs in the same class as actos have been associated with abnormal liver function tests. Hence, it is not clear whether a valid distinction is being drawn between abnormalities that theoretically could be associated with either fatty liver or drug toxicity - it may be difficult to distinguish which is which. An internal medicine, endocrinology or liver specialist may be helpful in sorting out these possibilities.
