Pain in left breast when pressed03/10/2009 |
I noticed a few days ago that when I mistakingly hit my left breast, I felt a strange pain after a few seconds, which aslo lasted for a few seconds. So I tried a number of times to press both breasts and I feel the same pain in my left breast just a few seconds after pressing it. I do not feel any pain in my right breast though. Neither do I feel any lump in either breasts, what could be the explanation for this?
Most breast pain is benign (not cancerous), but often we have no explanation for it. Decreasing caffeine from coffee, tea and chocolate can be helpful in reducing breast pain. Persistent pain in one area of the breast should be checked by your doctor and an ultrasound or mammogram is sometimes ordered.
