Sneezing and runny nose after dental work02/23/2009 |
I visited my dentist yesterday for replacement of a filling. I had 2 injections of local anaesthetic, the first injection was ok. However immediately following the second injection I experienced a strange tingling/nippy in my left temple followed by a horrible headache and light headedness. I now have cold like symptoms, ie sneezing and runny nose. Could this be a reaction to the anaesthetic?
Not knowing where the injection was makes this very difficult to answer. Your symptoms are uncommon but might be most likely with an injection for an upper back tooth. The persistent symptoms of sneezing and runny nose would not be typical of a dental injection, however. It could be that you are getting the flu or it is remotely possible that this is related to an infected tooth.
