my 12 yr old son has a cross under bite? he just cannot tolerate the RPE!! We have had it in twice and had to have it removed because he felt like he was choking. Could his mouth really be extra small and the device sits too far back for him to tolerate? We are told his only other option is surgery. Is there something else that could maybe somewhat correct it , maybe not perfect it, does he maybe have to have some molars extracted to make more room and then get braces? I had the rpe as a child and teeth removed to make room and this worked for me and i never had braces and like my smile. We have been to 2 wonderful, patient orthodontists in the area, i just dont know what else to do, any advice would be appreciated!
This question is impossible to answer without seeing your son. I am sorry.
