Pain in the neck03/27/2009 |
My daughter has been complaining more than 24 hours that her neck hurts. She has no symptoms of any illness at all. She is not turning her neck as freely as she should so I took her to the Dr. He said her throat and ears were clear so she must have a neck spasm that would feel like whip lash. However, today I noticed a knot in her neck under her ear that is about the size of a nickel. What could this be? Should I take her back to the Doctor?
She likely has a lymph node infection causing the stiff neck. The doctor should evaluate her to see if antibiotics should be given.
