Infertility

Effect of Duphaston

04/09/2009

Question:

Hi doctor, I`m 27 years old a mother of 2 child I`m using the Duphaston now because my period not regular. But last night me & my husband had sex and I`m trying to be pregnant. so, What is the effect of the Duphaston at this time??

Answer:

This medication is progesterone (a hormone that is produced by the body following ovulation).  Progesterone is also necessary for implantation and maintenance of an early pregnancy.  It is important to realize that while this medication can help you to regulate your cycle, it will not help you to become pregnant.  There are fertility pills that can help patients become pregnant.  You can see your doctor for more information about this.
